The youngest of six
children, Kristin Struble, M.D. was raised
in Tucson, Arizona, attending Salpointe
Catholic High School, and earning both
undergraduate and medical degrees at the
University of Arizona. Graduating Magna cum
Laude with a Bachelor in Nutritional
Sciences, Kristin was a member of several
social and honorary organizations including
Bobcats and Mortar Board Honorary groups,
and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Upon
graduating medical school she received two
special honors, the “Hugh C. Thompson
Student Award for Excellence in Pediatrics,"
and the “Outstanding Achievement” award.
Her undergraduate
nutritional science degree was a catalyst for
obtaining additional dietary education; she
completed a summer medical school nutrition
internship at University of California, San
Diego. Dr. Struble also has a special interest
in Dermatology having once studied and published
with Ron Hansen, M.D., a board certified
Pediatric Dermatologist in Arizona.
Dr. Struble subsequently completed her Pediatric
Residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/
Maricopa County Medical Center in May,
2001. Actively involved by serving as both Vice
President of the House Staff and Intern Class
Representative, she also published a short
children’s book illustrated in part by the
children she was caring for. Dr. Struble
ultimately earned her Board Certification in
Pediatrics in October, 2001, and began
practicing at Cactus Children’s Clinic in
Glendale, Arizona prior to finding her home at
Camelback Pediatrics.
She has also been
recognized by
Phoenix
Magazine as a "Top Doc."
On a personal note, Kristin is married to
Stephen Chakmakian, D.O., and is the proud
mother of Luke, perhaps the cutest and smartest
kid you've ever seen. She enjoys many outdoor
sporting activities, especially fishing, hiking
and mountain biking as well as her cute English
Springer spaniel named Max. She also enjoys
shopping, trying new cuisine, listening to
musical artists, and going to the movies.
