Milton Scharff, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Milton Scharff graduated
Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at
Austin where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa
honorary society. He attended medical school
at The University of Texas Medical Branch at
Galveston and completed his pediatric internship and
residency at The University of Texas Health Science
Center in Houston. After residency, Dr.
Scharff practiced pediatrics in Shreveport,
Louisiana and was Clinical Assistant Professor in
Pediatrics at Louisiana State University School of
Medicine. He worked closely with nationally
known pediatric lung expert, Dr. Bettina Hillman.
In Shreveport, he founded Pediatric Associates and
also served as Chairman of the Department of
Pediatrics at Schumpert Medical Center. Dr. Scharff
has lectured regularly on special interests
including advanced cardiovascular life support,
newborn care, and childhood safety. He was a
charter member of the Louisiana Child Passenger
Safety Association which was instrumental in passing
the state’s first law mandating the use of infant
and child car seats.
Dr. Scharff joined Camelback
Pediatrics in 1994. Dr.
Scharff has received the American Medical
Association’s Physician Recognition Award
continuously since 1982. He
has been consistently
recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a "Top
Doc," and has also been
listed as one of the “Best Doctors in America."
Dr.
Scharff is happily married to his wife Gail and is
the proud father of three accomplished young adults
Erin (Yale University), Spencer (University of
Pennsylvania) and Reed (Brandeis University).
Erin and Spencer are now attorneys and Reed works in
the world of data. Dr. Scharff
will be working for a long, long time. He is
also a very proud grandpa of Phillip and Daniel.
They call him "Doc".
When not
at work you might catch him smiling as he hikes,
bikes, skis, reads or plays with digital things.
